How long do you want to ignore this user?
Moved into a house with one of these wall mounted controls for our bedroom ceiling fan. Is it possible to leave this as is and then have a separate remote control set to the same frequency to also control the fan?

Yes. That wall remote uses dipswitches on the back which match the sensor in the fan canopy. Buy a unoversal remote that uses dipswitches and away you go.

I brought one of my fan remotes from another room in and changed all of the switches on the remote to match the setting in the wall. Nothing happened.

So if I buy any random universal fan remote on amazon you think it'll work? Will I need to rewire the existing fan with the new receiver too?

A little Google foo and it looks like that Kitchler receiver only works with two particular Kitchler controls.

  • Compatible with non-DC control systems - CoolTouch 337214 and remote control 337001WH only

Looks like you could buy a 'Cool Touch' transmitter that "should" be compatible.
