Trying to figure out how to get Christmas lights on our walkway this year to add to our house. There are several obstacles...gravel intersection & rocks. I attached pictures for reference. I'm stumped. Any ideas on how to combat this so we can get this done?

Thank you all!

Christmas light stakes ought to work...

Yep, stakes to hold the bulbs up. You're going to basically need custom lengths so I suggest using blank wire and bulb wire cut to length using vampire plugs connecting at each point. I've done this- Ace Hardware has everything you need to diy

The other option is to do LED net lights on the bushes and when they alternate to the other side, you do the stakes only in the non-bushes areas with the same colored or white lights...

The issue is I can't use stakes where the rocks are and where the gravel is. Unless there's something for that too?

Why not? There's soil under those rocks and gravel to push the stakes into.

Running staked lights on the inside path of those bushes seems like a ton of work considering the limited visibility. Think I'd go bigger and do candy canes or similar. Another option would be to swag lights so at least you can see them better. You could still do ground level staked lights in the flowerbed and yard. Agree with netting the bushes.

agree with JR Ewing and get the net lights for the shrubs. VERY easy, no stakes, no tripping and they will light the path.

run a few stakes then get a good gauge cable and anchor it down both ends real tight. zip tie the lights to the cable. like how you would hang tea lights It might look cool using the icicle lights.

Lights in bushes with stakes with trail lights bordering the flower bed would be my guess

Zip-tie lights to PVC (leave them on yr after yr). Drill 1/2" holes on the underside of the PVC. Hammer in rebar on the side of the walkway wherever the 1/2" holes are. Will give you perfectly clean lights.

Is it cheaper to build your own? It doesn't seem difficult to do.

That's similar to what a had in my head but with cable.

I also agree with JR Ewing's proposals and only add this 2-cents to perhaps augment those ideas.

That said, I prefer to light from above to walkways but I know those whose tradition is staked walk lighting, even if some blow down & get stepped upon.

I'm sure further research may provide either Christmas colors or colored lenses.

Since you got so much interest & suggestions here, it would be ideal to see your final result photos ... kudos - good photos thus far!
