I've been reading a lot about cost but I know everything is up
In the air due to Covid and other things. Located in corpus. Looking for a small pool around 12x20, max 6ft deep, built out of fiberglass. Not looking for anything special. General lighting with concrete around it. Easily accessible back yard that has a wrap around driveway so getting machinery there is no issue. Wont have to move water or gas lines and electric is also out of the way. I'm seeing quotes online for 30-40 grand but that seems too good to be true. Anybody done this recently?

Thanks for any info.

Depending where you are, bet you could get it done for around 50k

The cost they told me up front went up by 20 grand at least when. We sat down to put the numbers together.

I have an in ground fiberglass pool now after a gunite pool at my previous home. I really like it better. The sides and bottom are silky smooth unlike plaster and it doesn't attract algae. Especially if you are only planning a simple design no reason to get a plaster pool. Your decking is the same for either in ground pool construction.

You will be swimming in your fiberglass pool in about two weeks after breaking ground vs several months on a gunite pool.

I believe $35k is close to your needs.

I haven't done research in a couple years (since pre-covid) but I remember the cost of fiberglass and gunite being similar but with fiberglass being cheaper to maintain.

This a common misconception and is definitely not true by the way.

FYI for anyone else who was following, 45-50k for smaller builds.
