Does anybody do their own pest control on here? Looking for a solution to control the amount of rollie pollies and roaches we've been seeing around the house lately.

Outside or inside?

I'd prefer just spraying the outside. The Demon WP looks like a good solution. If I stop them before they get in the house, do I need an inside spray?

Spray both at least to clean out. Daemon is not bad. I use Lambda Star ultra cap inside, its micro-encapsulated so had more residual. Outside I use bifen XT with a hose end sprayer, bifen IT for inside is popular also. Fipronil is good on most pest but also labeled for termites.

Doyourownpestcontrol.com is a good site to research options based on what pest you have in your environment.

This. Works both inside and out. Tractor supply carries it.

We had great luck with Demon WP when we moved into our house last year.

I've used Ortho Home Defense for several years and have been very happy with it. Quick and easy application, only see dead bugs now

OHD is bifen and the synthetic pyrethroid Cypermethrin the same stuff in Daemon among other products. Lots of stuff on the list https://www.domyown.com/cypermethrin-c-114_117.html
Typically the generic formulations are much cheaper per application.

I've been spraying Tempo every few weeks and seems to do a good job.

I use Demand CS concentrate on the outside perimeter, Bifenthrin granules in the yard, and usually nothing on the inside. Sometimes I'll spray the Bayer stuff from Home Depot on the inside perimeter around windows and doors, but that's about it.

I generally buy from https://www.domyown.com/

Mix your Pyrethrin of choice with an IGR for much greater effect. Also, spray inside and out.

I use Demon for both. Been very pleased with results.

We moved into a new build last year and I had to leave town within 18 hours of moving in. Returned to ants everywhere. I was amazed how fast Demon knocked them and kept them out. Been using it since then.

Immune deficiency here so can't use the Powerful solutions nor commercial pros.

Outside: Ortho Home Defense as needed but other grocery store jug sprays can be employed more often; once you find the EZ sprayer (any brand) then just refill w/Ortho

Outside: Diatomaceous earth powder at entries and - new to us - kicking fire ant butts like never before
Vinegar is cheap and doesn't make such a powder mess but its "con" is the smell & not as effective but does work

Inside: If they make it inside, then using where no pets/kids can go/find/chew on ....
Syngenta 383920 Advion Cockroach Gel Bait +
Maxforce FC Select Roach Killer Bait Gel

Inside: Tomcat Glue Boards with Eugenol ... where kids/pets can't get to them

Inside: Pesky flies, gnats, mosquitoes, etc. Windex/equal spray downs them so easier to capture
Short-hand answers here ... long-hand help here ....

Asking the real questions here. If it's inside I'd look for whatever penetrations they're getting through and seal them up. I thought pillbugs tended to congregate around damp areas with decaying leaf litter so doing something about that would help too.

Just a heads up on the Demon. If you have dark hardwood floors, it will leave a white residue behind. I stopped spraying on the wood floors because of that, and now just spray in under the sinks, water heaters, behind toilets, etc... Other than that it works fantastic. Been using it for years.

This is the downside to Demon. For this reason my go to is Demon on the exterior and Bifen on the interior. I also like to hit the entire yard with this at the same time

Rollie pollies eat mites so they're not a pest but if you're really having a hard time try a chicken or an African Guineafowl for larger bugs. They're bigger but able to clear them pretty easy. They're ugly but I've heard they taste pretty good too lol.
