I've seen many Rheem units run 15-20 years problem free

I just replaced my Rheem HP 3 ton with another. Other one lasted 21 yrs. New one is pretty quiet compared

May I suggest you find 5-star reviews on installers, then ask them to compare mfr.s head-head before getting a quote from "the winner"?
Installation is the half of the process that can ruin the mfr quality design first half.

My top Brazos Co builders have a long history of using both these brands.
I just elected a Trane HP top-o-line, now one year old and feel very pampered in an old 80's house.

I walked through one of your houses on Appomattox just yesterday that was built by Jones in 1986. The amount of detail in trim work still astounds me to this day and I have been in hundreds of homes over the past 26 years including framing a lot of the ones you drew for Borski

Blessings for your accolades and for being a top framer for those top builders.

I cannot take much credit for trim/moldings/etc. in those cases, as I left those selections (& fees associated with such) to others, which were limited to catch-as-catch-can and pricing vs budget. It was rare to have me agree to add "interior decoration" to fees/plans, when we had so many others locally sharing a licensed I.D. like mine that really did all that on a daily basis.

My forte & love was creating the maze that fit the lifestyle ... now & in future.
If they gave me more money, then I could go nuts on curb appeal ... that sometimes involved trim.

Having a good concrete crew & top framers like you to supervise all of us was a blessing & made it all more fun.

We have had a lot of problems with our eight year old Trane heat pump. Luckily, we bought the ten year parts and labor service plan from the dealer that installed the unit. That has saved us thousands of dollars. The last time the tech came out he said they don't offer that plan anymore. Wonder why?

Lots of Aggie engineers in Tyler where the Trane units are designed and built! Entry level systems from all major brands are similar but the Trane 20 SEER variable speed heat pump coupled with their zoning system has no equal right now.
