Have a 1story with only gutters on front side of home, would like to extend to around the entire house and route into current drainage system. Thoughts on go or no go.

Need a referral if so in the Katy/fulshear area

I'm a big proponent of having a complete gutter system. Water can do a lot of damage to your house in a short period of time.

It's worth the expense. At a minimum get oversized downspouts but may want to consider 6 inch gutters.

I also agree that a complete gutter system is a good thing to have if you can afford it. There are a lot of roofing issues, foundation issue, and general homeowner issues that can be avoided by having a properly installed gutter system. Even a partial system is better Than nothing.

I have a one story house with a hip roof and guttering all around. My only suggestion is to make sure that the installers put in sufficient down spouts to handle the water in heavy rains. When we bought this place we had a problem with insufficient down spouts in the front, so whenever we got a heavy rain the water would overflow the gutters. Finally had additional downspouts installed and that fixed the problem'

This is good.

In a heavy rain if you have water gushing down roof or gutters down to ground you have an issue. Gutters are important. Invest. Doesn't mean spend $$$$ without regard. Some things you can likely down on own like gutter guards. If not that, be sure to keep whatever gutters cleaned out.

Thanks, any suggestions on a "guy" to get these done?

One thing I'm glad we did was put 6" gutters, upgrading from the 5". I live in Houston too and those storms that can dump 2" an hour could overwhelm our old gutters. But then again I do have some long stretches without downspouts, putting more strain on the capacity.

We live in Richmond and used H-town Seamless Gutters a few years ago after several others on here recommended them. They had the best quote and did good work.

They did mine too. Was happy with original install but can't get them to call or email me back.

Anyone heard from them recently?

We used Sugar Land Rain Gutters within the last two years. Philip Andrews is the GM and very personable. The pricing was very reasonable, they were prompt and did a good job with installation.

We are happy with the results, but there are a couple of things I would discuss before finalizing the job. There is one downspout that he mounted on the side of the house instead of the back wall, which would have been more convenient, and where the original downspout was mounted. The other thing is how low the downspouts terminate. They are right at the ground, and wind up getting hit by mower wheels and hang up hoses as well. I have moved one of them up and added an extension to move the water further away from the house, and have replaced one of the terminal pieces with another extension piece, again to move the water further away from the house.
