Just had a patch of my lawn resodded w st Augustine. I have a bhyve and have it set to water 10 mins 3 times a day for a week. Is that enough? It gets plenty wet and it's not so hot this time of year. Thanks for any help
This. New sod takes a ton of water. Like 1/2' per day or betterMr. AGSPRT04 said:
Rule of thumb is water new sod more than you think you need. It is unlikely that you're going to over water it, even this time of year. "10min 3x a day" doesn't really quantify how much water is being put down, but I wouldn't think 30min/day is not enough. You want it to set roots in the ground before it goes dormant over the winter, and I doubt 10min intervals of watering even soaks the soil beneath the sod.
