Go to HD/Lowe's/Ace and buy a brass fireman's nozzle. I've had an adjustable one for about 12 years and still works perfectly and doesn't leak.

Don't buy them on Amazon. One year and done.

Last one I bought from Amazon corroded onto the water hose to the point I couldn't get it off with vice grips and a bench Vice. Lol.

Either way, the ones from Lowe's are all sourced from China as well, you just pay for Lowe's overhead when you buy it.

Put teflon tape on the hose end to keep them from fusing.

Am I the only one that removes them after use?

Well, then I guess that's why I'm on the same water hose/nozzle combo after 10+ years. When I finish, the nozzle comes off and gets put up and the hose is drained, rolled, and hung up in the garage.

I do the same...well, I just leave the hose on the reel. But definitely splurge for a thicker hose that doesn't kink.
Also, when it comes to gardening tool up keep, my dad always taught me to wipe off all tools with wd-40. Especially shovels! We have some shovels that are 30+ years old that look almost brand new. I'm kinda OCD about that now, but man, it does make it nice when you need to dig a hole.

I use hose nozzles a lot and have most of my life. I long for the days of just going down to Sears and picking up any metal one that would work for years. We had them on all our hoses around the house -- front, side, and back yard. You could just leave them in the weather and they'd stay good forever. Now, I have them connected to quick connectors and keep them in the garage.

Don't get anything BUT a metal nozzle. The Gilmours are as good as any (HD has them; Amazon is cheaper). Their finish "sort of" corrodes a little -- it just turns a matte gray but still works. If you like, they're cheap enough to get another one every year or two. I have several. Indeed, they sometimes will need to be replaced as they really aren't made like they used to be.

The ones from Northern Tool keep their finish better but are smaller for some reason. I don't use the one I have.

Honestly, I'm finding i use my electric pressure washer so much I don't use the hose nozzle much anymore. And aside from having a lot of plastic, the fireman hose nozzle usually requires two hand operation where the standard nozzle only requires one. Simplicity rules.
