I have the dewalt corded and cordless, both work great and I like the ease of the blade release. No issues with either.

Just stick with whatever brand you have the most other tools of. Not worth going down another line just for a saw.

I have a corded Ryobi that I inherited. I bought some Diablo blades for it, and it has served it's purpose well when I've needed it.

I have dewalt corded and a rigid corded. The rigid is this one https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-Thru-Cool-6-Amp-1-Handed-Orbital-Reciprocating-Saw-Kit-R3031/100646504

I really like the rigid for hard to reach stuff. Though the dewalt has more power.

I never really found a absolute need for a cordless. Though last year when I was working on a center drive motor on a center pivot and needed to cut 1/2" off of a shaft when replacing a u joint I would have given my first born for one instead of using a hacksaw like I did. Come to think of it, it may be time to pick one up.

If it's for homeowner use:

Whichever you get a good deal on for corded,

Whichever you already have batteries for cordless

For more serious use:

Cordless only
