Running a landscape light/exterior light around our spa and the smart pool hub is out of relays. So they options seem to be.
1. Only be able to use these lights when the pool lights are on(less than ideal)
2. Install on a switch
3. Install on a timer

I would prefer to find a "smart" switch that can be controlled wirelessly, but I can't find anything that is rated for outdoors.

Anybody aware of this type of switch.

Can you mount it in a waterproof type switch cover box? If so, the smart switch doesn't need to be outdoor proof, just keep the cover closed!

Not sure if this will work for the City of Houston inspection ? I will talk with the electrician.

I've only seen smart switches that are just smart plugs.

I use this Kasa smart outdoor plug for my Christmas lights and outdoor lights. Works through the app on your phone can be scheduled it's great. Each outlet can be controlled.

+1 on the meross outdoor plug.

I am using a regular smart plug placed in a big plastic weather proof outlet cover. No problems yet, but it is under the patio cover as well.

Unless there's an issue with heat buildup, I can't think of a reason they would have a problem with it (not that it actually means anything...)

I use the GE outdoor ZWave switches. I have one on the porch as a repeater to pick up the signal from inside then get 100 ft of range outside to the others.

My fountain is plugged into a standard outdoor outlet on the side of my garage. inside the garage this outlet is coNtrolled by a timer switch. it was an old mechanical one but it just went out so I replaced it with the same indoor digital decora style I use inthe house.
