So we had a foundation company come out and quote us the cost to fix our foundation. They also offer drainage/irrigation services to help keep the foundation soil hydrated enough.

Just curious to see if there is any consensus on whether or not its smart to use them to help install & bury the foundation drip system and correct our drainage or if we need to outsource that to a specialized company?

All you need is:
Soaker hose
+
Timer
=
$40

If you have a sprinkler system that already waters plants near your foundation, you don't even need the soaker hose.

Have the soaker hose and the timer. Been watering 4-5 times a week for 30-45 minutes a day and yet...the cracks still appear. And they appear all over the house.

One throat to choke if it all goes wrong instead of the two companies blaming each other.

But if they "fix" the foundation... why does the soil need to be hydrated?

i'm not sure if your question is intended to be rhetorical or not.

Plano, 32 years, and no pressure test yet. Happening next week (before anything else happens)

I've found that partial underpinning usually is only a temporary fix, that you have to address the whole foundation to permanently fix it. Of course, the marginal cost to go from a partial to a complete job usually costs 2x, so many people settle for a partial, only to be disappointed when the slab continues to move. Go all or nothing IMHO.

*I am assuming you have opted for a partial, as a completely underpinned foundation is going to be much less susceptible to the movement caused by perimeter drying than a partial or non-underpinned slab.
The story isn't that [DeSantis] "couldn't win" the primary. The story is that an overwhelming majority of our population is heinously stupid. 50% of them vote for communists. 75% of the remaining 50% vote for Trump, who cant win. When the majority of the opposition party insists on voting for an opposition candidate who can't win, you get exactly the government you deserve. - Well Endowed Ag

Rhetorical. I assume that by "fix" the OP means underpin.

If done properly with drilled bell bottom piers to a depth that is in more stable soil (not affected by seasonal rainfall) then it should not need extra hydration.

If done improperly with pressed piles you ought to save your money or not "fix" it at all and just go straight to the hydration route.
