Wanting to build a pergola, so I started making a few calls around central Texas (near Austin).

I'm looking for cedar posts 6x6, 4x6.

I was a bit surprised as 6x6x8 were around $90 @ McCoys. 6x6x10 $105. 4x6x10 $60.

I checked Havenor out in Bandera and it is similar.

I get it, wood is not cheap, but then I just read the lumber supply has caught up and actually dropping in prices. Of course that could be cheap pine.

Cedar has been getting higher and higher. Cedar fence pickets cost me 180% more than they did 20 years ago. Have you tried Home Depot ? Last time I ordered 6x6x8 they had the best price.

I think I had read these articles about lumber supply and figured that things should be cheaper, but lots of people say prices 30% higher today than last year...like I said, they must be talking about pine.
