If you live in Houston, how often are you adding water to your pool right now?

I feel like I'm adding water every 3 days. Is that right?

Lots of factors, rain, humidity levels, how much you filled it up previously, but sounds about right to me. I do mine about twice a week, so I'd say every 3.5 days.

Do the bucket test.

Partially fill a bucket with water and mark the inside where the water comes to (marker or tape).
Put the bucket, partially filled, into the pool on a step or a shelf and mark where the outer water comes to (marker or tape).

Give it 24 hours and if the water on the inside and outside have both gone down the same amount (i.e. both lost 1/2 inch) then it's just evaporation. If the outer one has dropped more, you have a leak.

How long are you running when you have to fill?

FWIW, I just had my pool in DFW redone last fall, including repairing some small cracks. Evening after having that work done, I'm having to add water every few days right now, as well. It's probably just evaporation, but the bucket test would tell you.

My pool fill is also a sprinkler zone...runs 2x/week like most others. It's probably normal and evaporation.

With full afternoon sun exposure and highs in the 90s, expect to lose about an inch per week. Fountains, waterfalls, and kids splashing around increase that even more.
