Looking for recommendations on wireless camera system for outside and inside home. Prefer to spend under $500 if possible. Looking for a camera on my front door, garage to watch vehicles in driveway, backdoor, and in house.
We used David with Advanced Security Concepts. He got us a wired camera with a DVR for our old house. Under $500 for sure. Was not hard running the cable through the attic. They used a long rod drilled a small hole and pulled it right through. I went through the same thing with the wireless. They are nice but you still need to run a wire to power them up. So they are not "wireless" I found they are pretty unreliable since they run on the 2.4ghz band and it has so much interference and that is NOT good when you are trying to stream a hi-def image. At a still picture it works ok, but when people walk or the trees blew it all pixelated. You could not even make out a face. The throughput was just not enough. Maybe a 5ghz would work better but I did not try it. If you have to run a wire to power up the camera why not just run the dual coax or a outdoor rated cat5? If doing ip cameras.
Best bet, call a pro and get a quote so it's installed right and done by a professional. You don't want leaks or bugs finding their way into a new hole you made.
I bought a reolink system off Amazon and installed it myself. 4 POE cameras and and 8 port NVR with 2TB drive. Running the cat5 was no problem. I think I spent about $700 including camera system, a box of cat5 as I was doing some other rewiring, terminator kit.
