I posted this on trouble free pool but know we have some pool pros here so figured posting here too couldn't hurt

Not sure if this should go here or in the spa forum

But

Ever since we had our pool replastered in March, we've had an issue with the spa. When in spa mode, water comes out of the blower.

Realized there wasn't a check valve installed on it, so I installed one and thought that solved the problem.

However it has started again, not sure when, but I just discovered water pouring out everywhere this morning. Even out of the control box, as I'm guessing the water was traveling through the electrical cords.

Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

Never had a check valve before and never had a problem. Again, problem didn't start until after replaster.

Blower works fine if spa isn't on. Doesn't when in spa mode because I imagine the air can't push past the water, but didn't think that would matter

Edit: to say yes I realized after I installed the check valve that it is supposed to be at the very top of the pipe against the blower.

Is there a metal strap still holding the motor down right under the housing? Mine rusted out allowing the blower to pop-up off the air pipe and thus would not force enough air into the pipe. I got a piece of copper pipe support banding and tighten end down the blower and it works fine now.

There isn't. It just rest on the top. Here's a video I took of it this morning

Looks like your check valve was installed backwards or is leaking. Whole purpose of it is to prevent water from backing up.

If it's only happened after new plaster, I'm betting some of the plaster got into the pipes and clogged up the one to the spa just enough that it builds back pressure. You've got electric controlled valves too. Make sure they're actually opening and closing all the way. (video makes it look like they are operating correctly, but make sure the valves isn't broken off the handle inside).

I was gonna suggest a plaster chunk gumming up the works as well. Too coincidental with the replaster job.

I believe the valve is correct, however there was a piece of mulch in the pvc when I took the motor off this morning

I then turned the spa on again and it didn't happen

The video above and this one were taken about 1hr apart. I thing changed by me
