I looked into LED lights when we remodeled our pool a few months back. Reallly really wanted to get color changing LED lights as I would be able to control with the pool controls on my phone
Problem is all the reviews I read basically talked me out of it.

I installed one of these about a year ago and it works fine. You change color/program by manually turning it off and on at the switch.

I have the intellibrite 5g led, it's awesome and can by synched with their landscape lighting offering.
I have Hayward color changing LEDs and I really like them. Looks like I'm having a rave in my backyard e everynight when the lights come on. I had the one in my pool go out but Hayward came out and fixed it for free. Really glad I splurged on getting them.
I have the Pentair lights and can do a little light show if in the mood. Will do red, white and blue sequence on Wed night.
