Possible termite damage in front porch pillar

First noticed carpenter ants in one of our front porch wood support pillars. After removing the bottom wood trim baseboard pieces, we noticed some termites and termite damage. Is there a way I can kill the termites that may be inside the pillar without ripping it all apart?
