My wheelbarrow finally bit the dust and am in need of a new one. Was considering getting a yard cart instead, similar to this one: Gorilla Cart

Ive never used one, but any of yall who have, any reasons not to opt for a cart over a wheelbarrow? Mostly to use for hauling mulch, dirt, gravel and rocks around the yard for landscaping projects.

I bought a cart like that years ago and wish I'd just bought a nice wheel barrow. You have more control, especially on any uneven terrain.

Definitely prefer my wheelbarrow even though it's used and abused compared to my dads cart that he has. Much easy to handle especially with heavy loads

I prefer a wheelbarrow simply for the maneuverability. The single wheel in the front allows for getting in really tight areas. Then again, I use mine a lot for hauling all manner of stuff. Inexperienced folks with a wheelbarrow could get themselves in a bind with one, but they are my preference.

I think I'll be getting this soon...

It has an attachment to turn it into a wagon as well. Can be a dolly and help move large items

Wheelbarrow, but with plastic tires. I don't think I've ever managed to use a wheelbarrow more than twice before getting a flat.

I have the gorilla cart. Love it. Have moved river rocks and dirt many times. It's solid, and tips to dump. I live on a hill, and it makes it up hills and uneven terrain with no issue. I've even used it to get furniture out of my neighbors walk out basement, up his gravel side walk. I've had 3-4 neighbors ask to use it, one of them even bought it after he used mine.

I paid $55 ($70 with $15 off $50 coupon) at Lowes, the 4cuft one.

If you do enough yard work both would be very useful for different projects. I LOVE my gorilla cart but it does have some limitations as noted above. I just find the wheelbarrow causes more back strain for me for some reason.

I have a gorilla cart and love it for big stuff, however for normal loads and tons of versatility I use the WORX Aerocart . Very versatile and useful. Converts to a dolly and much more. You can find em on end of season sales at the big box stores for less than a hundred.

I might have to buy that worx cart. The bag holder would make my life much easier.

I like the dual wheeled wheel barrows for yard work situations. You lose a bit of the maneuverability from the single wheel but you get tons of stability while still being able to dump loads exactly where you want them.

The carts can be a bit harder to back up to the right place to dump stuff out in addition to being harder to re-position to dump smaller portions IMO.

Someone brought one of those Gorilla carts to a house we were mucking out. It really came in handy.

Big time bump.

About to do some mulch work and looking to have it dumped in our yard (bulk purchase).

One thing I would really like is some sort of cart that collapses as I would likely use this very sparingly. Don't want to take up space in garage for something I use 2 times per year.

I see Gorilla has a collapsible cart but it is soft sided and no dumping capability.

I could borrow neighbors too but for some reason I don't like asking to borrow...

For mulching that's fine. Any dirt/rock/concrete you need a heavy duty one wheel wheelbarrow

Just got the 1200 lb gorilla dumping cart; superior to my Old wheelbarrow so far

That's my next lawn equipment purchase. The handle doubles as a hitch to tow with the lawn mower as well which is pretty cool.

The only knock on these is the cotter pins - already lost both of them just from some light mulch use... I'm going to convert them to the spring loaded locking pins

I can't say enough good things about my Rubbermaid tractor cart that I've had for over twenty years. Been through at least 6 wheelbarrows in that time. Holds over a cubic yard and 1200 lbs and filled it with mulch, dirt, crushed granite, rocks & logs.

The only thing is you'll need a riding mower or 4 wheeler to pull it.

This is what I want but can't figure out where to store it. Need a shed...

Think I will borrow neighbors this year and figure something out for future. Need to organize garage.

Have one of these too. Loving it so far. Used it to move 4 yards of garden soil, 75ish landscape blocks, and countless bags of mulch. No issues at all.
