Does anyone have a recommendation for a company to perform a hydrostatic test in Houston (Spring Shadows)? We've used Michael Busch before but he's booked this week and our option period ends Friday. It's an older home so we would prefer to have the sewer lines looked at.

We used these guys when buying in Spring Shadows about a year ago. Seemed to provide a good report and were reasonably priced for the inspection. Their quote on the recommended work seemed a bit high, but we've deferred the work so I can't say for sure.

ETA - Don't expect too much from the sewer lines in a 50 yr old house. The cast iron piping is going to be near the end of its useful life.

I used Church Services on an old house after the cracked foundation was repaired. They let me watch how they did it. When the test failed, I got to see video feed where you could see places where the old cast iron pipes had severe dips and other places where the pipes were totally cracked apart.

Very large one story that had to be totally redone. That was expensive.

I have used church services and American Leak detection in Houston.

I have used Mike Williams at Vortex. I was very happy with the work he performed. He will camera all the drains and record the video and give it to you via dropbox once he's done. he is also a PE and very knowledgeable.
