Need to replace a few lights on my house, they have to be the kind that are mounted under the roof as I'm not interested in putting new holes in to mount on walls.

Any recommendations? The reviews of the ones at Home Depot and Lowes are just awful. I'd rather pay 5x as much and not have to put up new ones in a year.

Are we talking about flood lights?

Or a porch light?

My opinion- there isn't as big of a difference in fixtures as there is with bulbs.

I would suggest a led fixture or using led bulbs. Doing this should prevent having to replace the fixture or bulb every year.

Why are you having to continually change the fixture? Weather damage?

These are flood/spot lights, not fixtures. I had hoped to find ones with the disk/night or motion sensor, but quality seems very poor.

Installed this one in our backyard about 8 months ago and have been very pleased.

Problem with that one is it's not made to be installed in roof soffits like the OP (as well as I) is looking for. I'm sure he has holes in his soffit already as I do along with the electrical drops to them. Wasn't thinking when I rennovated so I'm at the mercy of finding the type of motion sensor.fllod lights to work for my situation. So far, Lowe's and HD don;t have what I need.

Therefore, if anybody knows of types applicable for our situations, I'd be greatly appreciative!

If the motion part is moveable.

I know we have a motion sensor flood from HD/Lowe's that is on the wall right under the soffit, but think it could be rotated and soffit mounted. I'll ask Mr Dubi tonite and post a pic if he says yes.

Yes, thank you. I currently have it mounted from the soffit around our garage, upside down.

Mounted under eave.

I don't recall the brand but my dad purchased several on Amazon recently. They're battery operated but the batteries have lasted him over a year. They're motion detected, dawn/dusk, flood lights.
