How long do you want to ignore this user?
I recently got an Echo 2 cycle straight shaft weed eater. I'm trying to use this to edge as well. Whenever I rotate the weed-eater where the string is vertical to edge, after a few minutes, it will die on me. After a few minutes of sitting in a normal position, it will start right back up, and the same thing happens.
Does rotating the weed-eater cause it to flood or not distribute the gas/oil mix through the machine? Is this machine not made to work this way?
Thank you all for your input.

I use my Echo SRM-225 in the same way to edge and I've never had that issue.

Mine will stall out if upside down too long. SRM-225.

The fuel pickup line in the tank is probably getting left high and dry when you turn it that way.

Yup... You're likely rotating it the "wrong" way. Try rotating it the other way. If the way you're doing it is most comfortable you, I see two options

  • See if you can just put a u-turn in the fuel line inside the tank
  • Put a longer fuel line inside the tank to force the pickup to be in that bottom corner.
