Any advice about the best way to get rid of bamboo growing under my 8 x 8 shed? Neighbor planted it and it's spreading like crazy over my back yard.

To clarify, my shed is raised on beams about a foot off the ground. The bamboo is growing under it, and I'm afraid it will damage the floor of the shed.

You need to install a root barrier along the property line up to 24" deep depending on soil conditions. After you do that begin killing everything that comes up with a non-selective herbicide. Your problems with this bamboo will not stop at your shed... the stuff will soon cover your entire yard if you don't put up a barrier.

My neighbor had bamboo and it spread into my yard, destroying my privacy fence (before we moved in) & I had to rent a backhoe to get all of it out before I could rebuild the fence! Stop it now.

Get a pet panda.

I think I have my work cut out for me...

Post whatever you end up doing and let us know how successful it is. We have a ton of it at our new house and it seems to spread like a wildfire. I mow every other weekend and new shoots are sporuting up in between. Some get to 4ft plus in that short of time.

That is an understatement...

So far I've picked up this. I plan to cut the bamboo down and apply this to the base of the shoots.

I don't care if it kills it all in his yard too.

that's the way I feel about the neighbor's honeysuckle vibes that are taking over their side and spreading to ours.

This is a helpful website. I'm considering killing some but keeping others sections and installing root barriers. We'll see...
