Got a handful of small holes/depressions in the back yard that I want to fill before the kiddos twist an ankle or something. What is best material to fill them with? Dirt? Soil?

Yard is St. Augustine if that matters.

**** USE SAND ****

Sand doesn't make mud when it rains or you water the yard.

also sand doesn't hold nutrients or water. Use a sandy loam

1. Take grass plug from center of low area
2. Fill hole with local topsoil
3. Replace plug
4. Water heavily
5. Mash plug into wet, soft soil to level
6. $profit$

Some things are really not that tough
