I bought a nice 3'x5' A&M flag and am wondering what size flag pole I should get? I'm looking for one that goes in a bracket attached to the house. Would a 5' pole look to short?

Need to buy on amazon today to be here by Thursday, so any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I wouldn't go any longer than that. You're going to be putting a fairly significant moment on the last 3.5 -- 4 inches of the pole where it inserts into the holder. That will also be placing a fairly significant moment on the mounts that are holding that bracket to your home.

Any longer and you're likely to have the pole bend/break or rip the bracket off your home.

First, a 3'x5' flag is pretty damn big for flying off the front of your garage or front door. But if that's what you've got, I fly a 3'x5' Gadsden flag during non-football season and I have a 5' aluminum pole that works just fine anchored to the frame of my garage door.

Yeah, I might of gotten a little excited about the flag, but the bigger the flag the more you love A&M. So, it is what it is.

Just kidding, but I'll definitely need to make sure I get into the framing by the garage because I have cedar shake siding.

15' sectional in-ground pole will solve the not-through-my-shakes issue.
