My backyard is infested with fleas. I have tried sprays, spreader pesticides and most recently dusted the yard with Sevin dust. I still get about 5 or 6 on my legs when walking through the yard. Any tips?

By the way, I don't have any pets and not sure how these *******s got in my yard.

mow short, dry out the soil/canopy a bit and eliminate moist areas, but it's been my experience professional treatment is gonna be the only thing that works. You could sprinkle diatomaceous earth everywhere, but I've only seen that work a little bit on such a large scale.

Birds, squirrels can bring them and I have a dog.

Look at the label for Allectus or Aloft. I really like Aloft for chinch, grubs, and it just got relabeled for fire ants. Not certain on fleas but I'll go check.

A quick look didn't show either labeled for fleas. Sorry. However now is the time to get a systemic insecticide out for most pests and i would be surprised if either of these two products didn't solve your issue. My best guess is that they purposely haven't gone after that labeling due to the fact that fleas typically means pets are present.

Malathion has a several week residual, safe for plants. Should kill and keep on killing for 2-3 weeks to catch the life cycle and new eggs.
Will solve some lawn problems too, but does kill your good bugs so only as needed.
Keep your pets on flea meds too.

I think you'll need to treat several times in a 3 week interval. You'll kill the adults, but not the eggs.

Anybody here have any experience/opinions on applying beneficial nematodes for insect control?

EMY92 has a good point. You will kill the adults but not the eggs. That might take a second application.

Had major infestation several years back. Called in pro pest control used for 2 years. Unable to get control. Used DE one year no problem since.
