so, a while back I posted about my aggravations with a weed I wasn't able to ID at first that was growing like wildfire. I never thought Kudzu would be growing in south Texas...but while doing a GIS for "invasive vines" after ruling out a dozen or so other species, i saw the pic and thought "holy crap! that's it!!".

Well, since then i've pulled up roots as best as possible and gone through enough Round-Up that if you have invested with them, you can personally thank me for your early retirement. lo and behold, that f&#^ing weed still isn't going away! i've killed 90%-95% of it, but the stuff that comes back is more spread out everytime, and I know that as I kill what I can see, it's already grown 5'-10' underground in all directions. I'm about to give up hope, and then I find this kid:

That's an amazing story with some awesome implications. I'm going to share this at work.

ISU, I wonder if he's patented the helium concept itself, ala your school and corn gluten meal?

Sounds like he is working on a patent on this part:

That hollow steel bit with the pinholes and the gas valve

Not the technique itself but the hardware I'd guess.

I have that growing in my front flower bed as well in New Braunfels. I hate it and am constantly having to pull at it and pull it off of my other plants. Never even thought to look at the name though.
