How long do you want to ignore this user?
We will be installing a yard full of St. Augustine sod and I was wondering if anyone had any tips regarding watering time frame, fertilization time frame, fertilizer type, etc. Thanks in advance.

I resoded the front and sides with St Aug. last May. I was told water twice a day for 10 minutes each for two weeks, then once a day for 10 minutes for 2 more weeks, then back to normal schedule. Of course, in May things were growing and not dormant, so that may not apply for laying it now.

I also put down some starter type fertilizer after about a month.

The yard looked great last year. TIme will tell how it comes back.

You will need to use a phosphorus(?) blend. I have the bag at home, forgot the mix and name. I did this 2 falls ago. Its basically a root stimulator. Don't use regular fertilizer.

watering schedule ^ looks about right. Just DONT let it dry out.

My only piece of advice is don't do St. Augustine. Water is getting more precious in Texas every year. Water demand increases every year, the supply is fixed, and you will pay more and more for less water.

I would choose a grass that uses less water.

Spicewood, it depends on where he is. If he's in Beaumont it's not an issue.
