Planning on laying some sod in the spring... what's the best time to do so (B/CS area)?

I would wait until it's warm enough for it to grow. Maybe early March before you put out fertilizer.

Don't know that it matters, as long as it gets plenty of water.

Ours was laid in November and looked great in the spring.

I put mine down 2 months ago. It hasn't slowed down growing yet. I have mowed it three times and fertilized it twice. The roots will be well established by next spring.

Depends on where you are located. North of Austin or west of Austin, I would wait until April if possible. It can freeze further North.

Your best bet is to get past the historical last day for frost. Check the internet for that date in your area.
