We have a group of 8 guys that do an annual trip, and we are planning for Year 4 in 2027. So far, we've done Hot Springs, San Antonio, and Shangri La in OK. We all like the idea of trying to check off a new state every year. Looking for recommendations for our next trip.

We've considered Big Cedar, but may save that for year 5 since it's a little more expensive than what we've done to date. Not trying to be cheap, but trying to keep costs reasonable. Let me know if y'all have any hidden gems. Thanks in advance!

Could do Biloxi. Fallen Oak, Grand Bear, The Preserve, Shell Landing. Not sure which ones are tied to the casinos you'd have to research that.

If you haven't done Scottsdale or Cabo yet, those are obvious destinations. Lots of great golf in both.

That is what we are doing next fall. Hopefully coordinating it with our game at Auburn.

If you want something close to TX then Albuquerque is an option. My group did the trip a couple years back. Paako Ridge is a full day at 27 holes. Black Mesa, Twin Warriors up the road in Santa Fe, plus Sandia and the UNM course. It was a good trip.

Keep an eye on this one. It's being billed as South Carolina's version of Pinehurst over the next several years.

Vegas. Cheap flights, stay off strip. Play 36 at Paiute with lunch for $400.

Isn't it just a couple of hours drive from Las Vegas?

Given those strips it sounds like you want to drive? Pine Dunes fits that.

Like the previous poster said, Vegas off strip can be pretty cheap too.

You can, but I think most people fly into Las Vegas. We did on our trip. Certainly cheaper. About a 2 hour drive on an interstate.

St George is very affordable. For our group, four rounds of golf and four nights in a very nice house was right at $1400. We booked through stgeorgeutahgolf.com

Grand Rapids, Michigan area. If that interests you I'll add a list of courses I've played.

Michigan has so many great value golf options.

Driving distance is not a must, just kinda how it's worked out so far.

2 trips I've done this year over a long weekend. Easy to get to from Texas and can be affordable if you plan it right.

Pinehurst NC
-Pine Dunes
-Mid Pines
-Southern Pines
-Tot Hill Farm
-Cradle at Pinehurst

Denver CO
-Bear Dance
-Arrowhead
-Colorado Golf Club

Go ahead and get on the lottery list for Bandon Dunes and Sand Valley for future years.

havent been on a ton of golf trips, but scottsdale in May was affordable a few years back if you time it right. Was able to book summer rates which were much cheaper and airbnbs were plentiful and cheap. If I remember correctly we stayed 3 nights and played 4 rounds (36 at we ko pa, quintero, and tpc champions). For flights, airbnb split between 4, and 4 rounds of golf it was about 1k.

Monterey, but not the Pebble complex. Play Pasatiempo in Santa Cruz on arrival/leave day. Poppy Hills is great, Bayonet/Blackhorse, and Pacific Grove. That's the budget trip but still great courses. Flights into San Jose are reasonable.

Great trip and pretty reasonable. Fly Southwest from anywhere in Texas. The Hyatt Tamaya Resort is right in the middle of all them.

PaKo Ridge is maybe 40-45min - one of my very favorite courses to play. Black Mesa is probably an hour - built/carved out of the mountains for about $2mil, other than a blind first hole I love it. Twin warriors is on-site - really fun more desert style course. UNM is 20 minutes. Sandi is close.

I believe there is still an Indian Casino just down from the Hyatt as well.

While you're there, go to the Frontier restaurant for the best cinnamon role you've ever had.

OK, the public courses I've played in the general Grand Rapids area are:

Pilgrims Run
The Mines
Thornapple Point
The Ravines
Diamond Springs

There are a few private ones as well, but I'll hold those unless you have a club pro that can call and maybe get you on.

The best hotel I've stayed at is the JW Marriott downtown, and its close to everything. However I've also stayed at the AmericInn right by GRR airport - its pretty dated, but it was clean and safe so if your group is looking for an economy option its a good one.

If you want some more suggestions around food, logistics, etc let me know.
