Opened in 2025, some billionaire built an exclusive golf course just because, exclusive in that it has zero members.

Hosting a collegiate golf tournament next week. I had no clue this thing existed, I may check it out next week.

I have some intel:

Halbert National. I'm here right now. There is no members. Friends and family only. Outside of ACU playing the course the last year since it's been open, on 30 outside of the family have ever played it. It is stupid money. Course has no divots in it. Zoysia fairways and Bermuda greens.

No lie. He bought 160
Acres across the street and is putting 2 bass fishing ponds in.

35 full time agronomists maintain the course.

He has 10 armed security guards out here today watching over him.

His wife flew from Plano to Granbury in their new 80 mil gulfsteam last week for a golf lesson here and back home.

I drove 2 hours this morning to watch final round only to be told I wasn't on the list so couldn't get in. I wish there was some information before about it. I've gone all over the place to our men/women play and never had this kind of problem.

I was there Monday and Tuesday.
Security was tight for a college tournament. A bit weird IMO.
Course is in great shape.
Front nine trees are almost all planted so the course looks immature there compared to the back 4-5 holes where the mature trees are found. Should look great in 10-20 years.

Not the best in the state of Texas (as a security guard told me) but certainly in the conversation for Top 10 in Texas IMO. Dude is not scared to spend money

We must not be far from you.

I live on the course. Not really but almost. Our house and property line borders the course for 600' on the NE corner.

We sat by the pool in the backyard and watched the drone show they did a few nights ago. Speaking of drones, they have drones that fly around every night and monitor the course. Whoever flies the drones also likes to fly off of their property and hover over my back yard looking down into our house and I've seen then fly down the lake hovering outside of people's houses at night. Kind of odd for golf course security.

I saw the drone show, except it was from the back side. I was wondering why they were showing all the college logos, then it dawned on me it was a tournament. I'm across the lake on Cedar Bluff.

I didn't - was just sharing my messages from a family member who was there, who also happens to be on BOR for Baylor hence why he knows so much.
