JULY 13, COUNTY CAVAN, Ireland -- Texas A&M All-American Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio helped lead Team Spain over the weekend to the European Golf Association's European Ladies Team Championship, held at the PGA National Slieve Russell course in County Cavan, Ireland.
Fernandez Garcia-Poggio and her teammates earned the No. 3 seed through stroke play before defeating Ireland, Finland and eventually France in match play to secure the title.
The Madrid native continued a successful and busy July with the crown. Last week, Fernandez Garcia-Poggio teamed up with fellow Aggie Vanessa Borovilos to lead Team International to the Arnold Palmer Cup Championship.
Note: Both Cayetana and Vanessa will be back next year for the Aggies.
