The Walker Cup will be held this year from September 5th-7th at Cypress Point.

I have never attended the Walker Cup in the past, but apparently because its at CP, the there is a larger amount of interest and the ticketing process features an application/lottery system similar to the Masters:

Like in society the golf world is now the haves vs the have nots. So much demand and money in the game that resorts, courses, green fees, all of it is skyrocketing and moving everything to high prices and lotteries. Not fun.

I wonder if the CP pro shop will be open. That almost be worth the price of a ticket to have access to merchandise from there.

I imagine it will probably be like the Masters with separate merchandising for the event and the club.

Yeah, if I had to guess I'd say it will be a setup like the Masters - with separately branded merch related to the Walker Cup and/with CP instead of just the CP branded merch. There is a difference between Augusta National items and Masters items, and I'd think this would be similar.

I also agree with the statement above about the cost of the game skyrocketing (as in everything else these days it seems).

The big appeal for me for this event is that CP is my number one bucket list course, and I don't know if I'll ever have another chance to walk it. I tried to volunteer for the event back when that opened up, and I was rejected (the second time the USGA told me 'no thanks').

It's a top 3 course. No doubt about it.

Bump. Ticket emails went out today and I'm currently planning a trip to walk Cypress Point! There's a somewhat reasonable chance for a family friend to make the US team which would make it all the more special. Anybody else manage to get tickets?

I haven't received the email response yet.

Looking at the website, it appears the responses are spread out over a period of time, and I don't see a way to log in and check the status.

Also, congrats on the selection and the potential opportunity to see a family play in it.

I got an accepted email for Saturday tickets. Maybe they're doing it in waves to see how many actually purchase for each day so they can send more acceptance emails later?

Just received my rejection email. CP still eludes me.

Rejected here too.

Seems fitting the Masters application opens today. I'm ready to be hurt again.
