I would suspect he is for this year.

Time for Tiger to do what Phil did a few years back. Play a handful of tournaments on both the regular and champions tours. Would boost ratings and purses especially for champions tournaments. It would be great for the seniors.

I think he's done competing. How can he reasonably come back and be competitive? Near amputation of the leg, 4+ back operations, fracture of leg (while winning the US Open at Torrey) and now the ruptured Achilles - his lower body is shot!

He's going to end up rivaling Evel Knievel for injuries and surgeries. Borderline crazy how many times he's went under the knife now.

He will want to play at two more majors the most and go out like Jack and Arnie.
First The Masters and The Open at St. Andrews in 2027 will be the end if he possibly can stay healthy.

The way he's been walking and swinging lately it looked like that thing was well on its way to being ruptured.

Looks like 18-15 will be the final score.

And 46-26 in top 3 finishes.

Not quite sure how the guy even walks at this point. Much less plays any golf.

I can't imagine how he feels when he gets out of bed each morning. At least he has the kind of money to pay a fulltime massage therapist if he wants.

I am no Tiger fanboy, but I was really hoping he could hold it all together long enough to make a serious run in a major. It woulda been great.

He's been trying to play a handful of tournaments a year for the last three or four years and can't even stay healthy enough for that load. Other than maybe trying to win a US Senior Open, I don't think Tiger plays the senior tour given his health and more importantly, his pride.

Be interesting to see what he does. As I understand it, you can ride on the senior tour so I think there's a chance he tees it up there some. And while I get the pride point, Jack and Arnold both played the senior tour. I don't think Tiger will see it as beneath him.

They can ride which improves the chances. I remember an interview where Jack said part of why he was playing was a sense of duty to his fellow senior players that had been on the regular tour with him. The tour was still struggling and he, Arnie, Chi Chi, Trevino, and a few others helped get it off the ground.

Tiger fun fact of the day. He has had 3 hole in one's in PGA events but none since 1998 in the Sprint Championship after making one in 1996, 1997 and that one.

Jack has the same number.

Pebble hosts the US Open in 2027. I can see him using that season as his curtain call.

Was watching a video about couple of days ago about Tiger. Former PGA player (the name is escaping me right now) was talking about how Tiger's swing changes led to many of his injuries and lowered his longevity. Will see if I can find it.
God loves you so much He'll meet you where you are. He also loves you too much to allow to stay where you are.

Agree and his favorite course is The Old Course.

Except the cold damp weather like you often get at Pebble and St Andrews is really tough on his body.

Not to mention the extended travel to St Andrews can't be good.

At this point, after so many health issues and surgeries, it's safe to assume he's in constant pain with less than normal range of motion. That leads to his body compensating for those issues and aggravating other areas of his body.

He's going to do whatever he wants, but at some point he has to start being concerned with "the rest of his life" and reducing further wear and tear.

I saw a scroll on tv that said that Tiger ruptured his Achilles and said his status for the masters was uncertain. Really???? You think??? It's going to take a good 6-8 months to recover and longer to fully recover.

Yeah but if the headline was "Tiger ruptures Achilles - yes he will obviously miss the Masters you morons" then Golf Channel couldn't run "will Tiger be ready for the Masters?" stories for the next month.

Assuming he doesn't have some miraculous recovery, it'll likely just be to wave at the crowds for 2 days and get his "farewell to the Majors" picture taken at every iconic spot.

Wasn't it laparoscopic
Likely just minimally invasive, and not a full tear

Watched Tiger at Texas Open when he was trying to get his tour card. He was crazy good! Got to watch him on driving range and thought at the time if his body can hold up he will have all the records. However his swing was so big I just didn't think it would hold up.

Adding to the swing stress on his body, the car wreck, and I think those two pretty much finished him.

Jack won several senior majors and it would be nice to see him there, but I don't think you will see him on Sundays at a major again.
