Been playing golf for ~35 years. Clean the club face after every shot. Keep my tools sharp.

…but have never once washed the grips. Have read it's important to wash with soap and water to increase lifespan, effectiveness, etc. as dirt/sweat will cause grips to wear. Play in Houston mostly so grip is definitely a factor.

Anyone actually do this?

Dawn soap and water, usually once every 5 rounds or so.

If you're having to wash grips from loosing grip, it's time for new grips. But I will say there are some grip textures that get more tacky when you wash them, just depends on what type of grips you use. Iomic Sticky come to mind that benefit from a washing because they attract the oil and dirt as well. I use them on my Long-drive setups for better grip, but play the MCC+4 with my gamers and I don't wash them. Maybe I should? I will give it a go and see what the results are.

There is a reason caddies clean the grips after every round for pros. Yes, cleaning the grips extends there life and improves tackiness/grip.

I generally haven't, but we've been playing a lot more and read an article about it. So I washed my clubs last week with Dawn and hot water. I can't say I see or feel a difference, but it definitely didn't hurt. And the water in the laundry room sink was disgusting after.

During the round, I use my Frogger towel.

After the round... scrub brush and Pinalen.

Nah...sticky grips make it difficult to throw a club after a bad shot.

One good spray of windex and scrub with a towel.

Yes, clean the grips regularly with Dawn. One thing I keep in my bag is a tack cloth like paint/body shops use. Costs like $2 at Walmart. Rub it on the grip and it'll make even the most worn slick grip very tacky for a few shots.
