Anyone have any recommendations on public courses in the Newport Beach area? Going for a bachelor party in March and looking to golf one day while we're there

Obviously Pelican Hill.

I also like Strawberry Farm up the road in Irvine.

Other than what Druggist said, you have Oak Creek in Irvine, Tustin Ranch in Tustin and Tijeras Creek in Mission Viejo. None of those are that far from Newport. You can also do Arroyo Trabuco in MV.

Pelican weekend rates (Fri/Sat) right now if you aren't staying at the resort start at $415 and go up.

Yikes! We stay at the resort every summer and play both courses for 3-4 days. One of our favorite places!

Any other suggestions between Anaheim and San Diego? Making a trip out there soon and want to play a round with my son. We are going to play Torrey Pines, but needing one other round up near Disneyland area. Really wanted to do Pelican Hill but no way am I going to make that the most expensive round I've ever paid for in my life.

Anyone played Encinitas Ranch in San Diego? Looking for a second round besides Torrey unless we should just play both of those.

Aviara. Personally, I liked it more than Torrey. Madraras and Carlsbad Crossing are nice as well.

Oak Creek in Irvine is not bad for a lot less than Pelican.

Arroyo Trabuco in Mission Viejo is a neat track.

Home of the self-acclaimed great golfer, Michael Block.

Oak Quarry in Riverside is another fun one. Not fancy, but really cool layout in the old quarry.
