Anybody ever been? I'm thinking this is the one tournament I could take my kid and he'd enjoy it.

It's actually a lot of fun to watch. I'm watching that over the NFL today.

Charlie Woods made an Ace !!!

I remember when Texags wrote Charlie Woods off because he wasn't a top ranked junior yet.

The PNC is great.

Well, he's still around 750-1000 ranked in junior golf, and they are facing off against a 67 year old and an investment banker. This is a fun event. But don't get carried away with the "in yo face!" on what it means

Who's getting carried away? Dude has talent. Sorry Danny.

And by the way, that "67 year old" won the Champions Tour Championship this year. And that "67 year old" has won a Champions Tour event every year for the last 17 years.

Is he his Dad? Of course not…

Sure, you have to be an excellent golfer to even be 750-1000 with how many good juniors are out there. But his trajectory is not that of a tour player and your post was some sort of weird "told you so". Nobody has said he sucked at golf.

I think he will be on the Tour by the time he turns 21. He won't be nearly as good as Tiger but he will be solid.

At 15, Tiger won his first US Jr Amateur. At 15 this year, Charlie shot 82-80 and was near the bottom of the 260 player field.

People just don't appreciate how freakishly good the worst tour player is these days

Except maybe Jason Langer. He had a good game but was like "yeah, summa cum laude at Wharton and investment banking is gonna be my deal"

Fair enough Dubey, but you don't have to be great at 15 to be on tour some day. I'm not saying he's gonna be Nick Dunlap, or Surratt, or anything like that. He's not a prodigy…

But to even qualify for the US Junior is studly. He's got plenty of talent to be a tour player if that's what he wants to do. But he's gonna really have to want it. Because it's a really, really hard thing to do.

One other thing… you poor mouthed this Langer team… these two have won this thing 4 times… nothing to sneeze at.

Well aware lol. Try digging deep and finding that sense of humor. Gotta be there somewhere

Good to see Tiger walking well. Physically, this is the best I've seen him look since the wreck.

Definitely looks much better. Heard this week that the leg is doing much better and his back is more of the challenge. But he looks much more comfortable

He also has been barely playing. 6-7 events a year tops is probably the strategy he needs. Play, rest 10 days, hit it hard a couple weeks, play again

He has barely been able to do 4-5. Last year was probably the most he can do which was a warmup event and then each major once a month for 4 months.

Doesn't seem right that Charlie has to tee off further back than the reigning Champions Tour champion.

Charlie gas to go further back next year

It'll be interesting to follow. The last couple years, his leg has been the biggest issue and it seems to be improving. Having said that, his back has been through hell and it will likely continue to get worse.

Yeah, multiple fusions and so much disk material removed over the years that it's a mess and will always be a big problem. How much just depends on the week/month

I don't think this is correct as far as Charlie.

Langer is an animal.

It was good to see Tiger swinging and moving pretty well. Though it did look like his back started to get tight as it got cooler later on. He was bending down pretty gingerly to pick up ball markers.

I assume they are going off age. Langer is a freak of nature. To be as good as he is at 67 is nuts. We have seen most Masters winners try to play after 55-60 and it is just ceremonial. He was T29 in 2020. I wouldn't bet on it but I wouldn't be totally shocked if he made the cut this year in his final appearance.

You're right of course and the irony is that's all Tiger's fault. The dollars available for the career length is like no other sport now and that's nearly 100% the Tiger effect. Plus, he made golf cool for a whole generation of players who are now throwing kids into the game.

Tiger would've been a freak anyway, but the pure numbers mean his 3 junior ams/ 3 ams would not be possible in today's landscape.

Read Paper Tiger. And that was nearly 20 years ago.
