I played the course this week. Noticed the DMN rated it the best new course in Texas for 2024. Hal Sutton created a fine layout of a variety of holes modeled after some of the most memorable ones in the UK. The course is built on an old gravel and sand pit, which makes for some interesting topography.
Sutton made this old school; no GPS of any kind. Three yardage markers in each fairway. Those and a daily pin sheet are your navigation aids.
Fairways are wide so that you don't have to spend too much time on an imperfect drive. There are a few blind shots.
All of this means that local knowledge is greatly desired. Each group must include a member. I know several, including Sutton, have moved on from other clubs in the vicinity.
