I've worked with several members; as I understand it, you have to know someone and be invited.

Keep us updated and let us know when you need to fill up some tee times. Hear that place is awesome.

Escondido is incredible. Loved playing there the one time I did two years ago.

Gotta know someone and be invited. Even then the waitlist is like 100+ deep and members very rarely leave they only die.

Any feedback on lakeside and Lakecliff in Spicewood? Lakeside looked in great shape today when we drove out there.

My opinion: both are great settings, neither are *amazing golf courses. I like lakeside a little better but the redo of lakecliff's greens to bent was well done, some of the better greens in Texas.

Lakecliff is not lined with houses. #1 (partially), a few way to the right on #5, #9, #16, and thats about it. Greens have always been in great shape, fair course, light on the clubhouse amenities but they have expanded the dining.

You're right looking at aerials. That was my takeaway from playing but definitely not as many homes as I remember.

AGC is a nice course, but it doesn't really do it for me enough to want it to be a home club.

Escondido has amazing facilities but again, especially for a Fazio course, it isn't that memorable of a layout to me and no longer has bent greens (and hasn't in over like 10 years, but when they did, they were amazing), but the course is obviously always in great shape.

Barton Lakeside was just redone this year along with clubhouse but I haven't been out there since reopen, but hear it is nice. Would be a much cheaper option to just get lakeside (no main barton courses) than AGC or escondido.

Never been to lakecliff since it was renovated and taken private but hear the bent greens are great.

There is a new course and luxury development right in the same area called loroloma being built right now you may want to check out if you are planning to build a house.

Loroloma and Travis Club, another new development closer in just east of Briarwood, should be top notch golf. DMKidd at Loroloma and Beau Welling at Travis Club. But while I dont know for certain, I would suspect that both will be community members only clubs.

Loroloma might have more affordable housing options (relatively speaking!) since their website shows 3br "cottages" thru estate homes, whereas I think Travis Club will be exclusively high-end custom estate homes.

Agreed. Great clubhouse and no tee times. But I'm not a fan of Ben Crenshaw courses. All I remember are mostly uphill blind tee shots and gargantuan greens. (His Barton Creek course is my least favorite of their courses. That being said, his abandon Trails course blew me away. I didn't want to play it, but our caddy convinced us to. )

Lake Cliff is great. There's a golf academy you out there - 2 day's of instruction + playing the course if you want a taste test
