I think this has been posted, but what is the best garage setup to bang balls into a net and track stats and play courses via an iPhone or iPad. Ok spending $500-1k on the device. So far, I see Garmin and Rapsodo and some version of the sky track at the upper end of that range.

Bushnell Launch Pro is good too.

I have a skytrak+ and I like everything it provides me from a data perspective.

The biggest minus is the app UI - it's not the greatest...but you get used to it. I know they are doing a full re-write of it, so I am hopeful a new look and fell will make life easier.

I use mine strictly outdoors, so I do not have a need to connect to my Wifi at home, however numerous call to support it was revealed to me you need to connect it to wifi at some point in the setup to get everything right. This was frustrating but as of now all is good and it is great.

I have a garmin R-10 i set up in my garage and I play literally every day.

Just turn it on and hook it up to my phone and I can play the arcade versions of all the courses locally and beyond.

It is also great for practice sessions. The only knock is that if you have a worm burner (usually on tee shots) it wont pick it up--also sometimes misses poor contact shots.

I would rate it a 8.5 out of 10, but it has given me the ability to put the kids to bed and then play 9/18 holes real quick after within an hour or so.

I was a 27/29 handicap last summer down to about 18 now. (just started playing after Covid)

The other beef I have, is that if you want to get the full simulation experience instead of your phone, getting it onto a tv has proved challenging, but that's why you blue-tooth it to a dedicated computer--i haven't done that yet as my quick set up is easy and works.

Does the R10 go behind you? If so, do you just have a crazy deep garage, or you just put it outside a little?

I watched a ton of stuff on the R10 when it first came out. Some really worrisome accuracy comparisons to GCQ. Now I fully understand the price difference but the one thing I couldn't accept was it reading the complete opposite shot shape. Seemed very sensitive to alignment

I do wonder if it has improved. And I know people have spent a lot of time making alignment aids.

In the same price class the Rapsodo mlm2 pro seems to have performed a lot better when compared with GCQ.

For several thousand dollars less I can accept a pretty big variance in spin/carry etc. but I need it to read the right direction. Mlm2 seemed to do that really well

The thing about the R10 that no one matches is the sheer number of courses you can play. Yeah it's a cartoon "sim" but it's pretty cool to be able to play anything that Garmin has mapped for their watches.

$2,000? Looks like the best product but just a little much for my blood unless I improve the garage set up. That said, this one would work better than the Rapsodo as I don't have the depth to use that in the garage.

The last part is the coolest piece. It's nice playing an arcade version of Augusta with the boys on Masters weekend in the garage.

Yes it goes behind but you only need 6ft/7 ft to the ball. So it's not that bad for a normal garage. Only bad part is the ceiling and door. I can't play with my garage door up as my swing would hit it.

For sure. would be really great to be able to "practice" a course you've never been before going.

I think both R10 and MLM2 Pro have GSPro compatibility. Go look at people playing the "Georgia Club" on GsPro . . .

Any chance you're in DFW?

I've had the OG skytrak for years, but I'd love to see if the r10 works in my garage. I have 11.5 foot ceilings, and a high lift on my door. That lets me play with it open, but I tried a few "behind the ball" monitors that none of which worked great. That was a few years ago though, so I'm sure tech has improved.

one thing to note...if you are going to take this with you to a range, make sure whichever one you get can be accomodated on that range - e.g. if it needs to go 6-8' behind you, make sure that will work. A lot of the places I go to, the tee box has nothing behind it, but a slope down, or stairs so behind makes no sense for me. Of course me NOT using it indoors I am probably in the minority here.

Looking forward to what direction you go Cab and your review. I'm in the same kind of boat in terms of pricing and wanting it for my garage. Hope you come back with a review. Thanks.

Does your R10 pick up chips? Mine misses about 70% of any chip 10 yards and under

I play an R10 in a metal shop, overhead projector, and 13' wide impact screen. It works really well, especially wiht the Titleist RCT balls that have the radar mesh built in. Chips as said can be hit or miss. One cool thing with the R10 and GSpro is that you can set up putting with a 60fps webcam and it's pretty decent.

Yeah I have 11 foot ceiling and I'm 6-3 with pretty long arms for my size. I can't play with my garage door up.

Oh yeah. That's actually a big help. My brother 3D printed a stand for me that raises it up 3-4 inches or so.

That's a huge help with tracking ball flight and picking up good data. Forgot about that piece of it.

May be looking to upgrade from my OG Skytrak just so I can get the inclusion of club data. Let me know if there is any interest.

Got it right before the Skytrak + came out. Works well with only a couple months use.

I'm still evaluating options -- what version are you looking to sell (and price) and what do you mean by inclusion of club data?

I am in no rush as I am pretty pleased with how well it has been working. The higher end launch monitors will show you club path + club face angles & some of them will even take a picture so you can see exactly where and how you hit the ball.

Would need to look more into price, but would be within your range. It is the Skytrak (not Skytrak +) with metal case

Amazon sells the Garmin mounts. I have the one with the ryobi level. Worked well at the range getting the flight and always got my pitch shots in the backyard net.

In having a detached garage set up, and to play simulation courses on either the R10 and Rapsodo MLM2 PRO, do you need wifi connectivity or are the courses built into the software?
'03ag
How long do you want to ignore this user?
The other one to look at is the Mevo+ which is only around $1850 right now.

The big thing with that one is NO SUBSCRIPTIONS. you get all the ball data and 10 E6 courses for life. Can do other 3rd party sims if you want to pay.

$900 one time fee to include club data.

MLM2 is $200/ year just for spin data and the right to use 3rd party sims. Plus the cost of those sims.

What Net do y'all use? I am worried about hitting a wedge too steep and hitting the ceiling or over the fence.

Thinking about stringing up some Archery Baffle.

There is no protecting your ceiling from errant skied tee shots and wedges with a net.

Unless you put some plywood up for protection for your ceiling and then padded it somehow to stop powerful ricochets.

You're not going to find a better baffle than this one. $89. 10x10 and just hitting golf balls to it won't put a hole in it unless the baffle is rubbed against an object behind it. It's very heavy and thick.

I use this one and have never launched a ball over it in the 4 years I have owned it. The shape allows you to set it up close
