What are the best options to get two foursomes out to play somewhere decent next Saturday, May 18th in reasonably close proximity to north Fort Worth?

I'm headed there for a weekend gathering and just learned the course our group expected to play, Champions Circle(?), has a tournament.

Thanks in advance.

Stay up until midnight and book tee times at Rockwood.

There are really good public options on the west side of DFW. Rangers, Waterchase, and Tierra Verde are the first that come to mind.

Rangers is hard to beat for a group outing. Conditioning is great, wide fairways, reachable par 5s, and just overall interesting golf holes make it fun for a wide variety of golfers.

Be glad Champions Circle is hosting an outing!

Thanks. Rockwood was on the list. We'll likely try the midnight hack.

We're staying in Roanoke. Don't mind a bit of a drive, but don't want to spend 3+ hours round trip in the car.

Sky Creek Ranch is a good option in Keller.

Thanks for the suggestions. I couldn't get a time at Rockwood last night until after lunch, which was a little later than we preferred.

Another party member was able to secure late morning times at Iron Horse, so we'll tee it up there.

Would the Southlake / Trophy Club area be close enough?

Just played Iron Horse yesterday. Be prepared for SLOW greens and tall fairways.

Played Friday at Champions Circle where 2 of the 8 in our group play regularly. Conditions were decent, but that routing is…..interesting. They probably should have converted to a fun 9 holes with short course or bulldozed redeveloped it entirely instead of what they did after selling the land where BigShots sits.

Saturday's round at Iron Horse was fine. Greens rolled well and fairways had been mowed. I consider it a minor accomplishment that no tee shot I hit required me to yell FORE! Damn, a few of those holes are right on top of each other.

All in all we had a great time even if the courses weren't spectacular.
