Is there any way to play Traditions if you're not a member? I'm going to be up there with my son for Elko's youth football camp early June and didn't know if there was any way to get on. TIA.

I think they are closed in June while redoing the fairways (they might be converting to a 9 hole par 3 course during that time). I know if you stay at the Stella they can get you on, or just ask on here and usually someone can accommodate.

Was told June 6th for the closure.

outside of course closure, they will let basically anyone on. Nephews, best friends, guy who cuts your hair. It's the most non exclusive private club I've seen. 5 hr rounds as a result. Which is why I gave up my membership several years ago.

Revisiting this thread, there's basically 4 options in College Station, 3 of which are private and 1 is the campus course? Traditions is closed, Miramont too exclusive unless you play with a member, Pebble Creek (is it still private?), and campus (no thanks).

Campus course in early June should be very good. Fewer college kid rounds being played and typically good course conditions.

Harry - Briarcrest (Wallace Phillips) is still around and was ok early March when I lapped it. I wouldn't toss out the Campus Course. Sterling is managing now, it should be ok. Have not been on it since last fall.

Swollen-reciprocated into to Traditions many times and never had a similar experience, sorry to hear. They used to be an Associate Club with Club Corp / Invited now. Dunno if they still are...fun track.

What is the latest with Pecan Lakes in Navasota?

Last I heard, Pecan lakes is still running a couple of temp greens. It's not in great shape.

As a Club Corp (now Invited) member, we were always able to play Traditions for cart fees. Is that still the case now?

I believe that program ended in 2022.

The course is closing down on June 2. Sprigging begins on 6/3 per Bill's update last week.
