Anyone know the membership fee schedule for golf? Looking to retire in a couple years, and this is on the list.

I've looked into it recently.

$60K and about $900/months for this membership. https://www.clubhsbresort.com/join-us/benefits

Summit Rock has its own membership which includes the above. It's $205K and $1,700/mo.

Read somewhere if you live on property, the initiation is 35k. Thats not a deal breaker.

Next thing to figure out is the crowd levels on the course and the lake.

join Escondido instead. Plenty of buddies there will also be Horseshoe Bay members and go play with them

That's not the case.

A few properties have a membership waiver. The waiver can expire so always check with the membership office.

I played Slick, Apple and Ram on successive days the first week of December. The weather was fabulous. I had the first tee each day (8AM). The next tee times were not until 9:30-10 on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I was a single and played in 1:55, 2:10, and 2:20, respectively. Had a wonderful time.

Kind of an eye chart. Dated Nov '22. HSB residents or anyone outside a 20 mile radius pay 35K. But hey maybe inflation?

How crowded does it get with non-members playing there?

I'd have to do the math on that links versus olympic

green fees aren't cheap. probably 2 - 3 rounds makes up the difference.

Also, 5 days vs. 14 days sucks. Plus, if you want to be in a "men's group" you'll want full membership.

Anyone have the details on Escondido membership?

You have to purchase a lot to be a member. Lots are pretty much in line with the higher fees we are talking about for Summit membership. The dues are higher, but the club and experience are at a completely different level.

If you are playing for 3 days, yeah, try to play all three courses. There are also lake activities and pools.

With one word of warning……outside of the resort……everything closes early and there are no great restaurants.

Son is 8. Loves golf. On golf team. Plays twice a week. Wanted to take him for a stay and play for 3-4 days. I'm in ft worth. We like the heat so no problem with that. This horseshoe bay is around $500 for a night and round of golf each day for us Seems like a decent deal. We would play golf and then hang at resort chill etc. any other suggestions

Bay View just past the resort is pretty good for a casual place.

I wouldn't play Slick Rock ever again. Poorest conditions/views of the 3 courses by far and no price break. Further offsite as well.

Found even lower some random August dates. Seriously considering this

So summit and Escondido are similar in price? Lots are more in Escondido from what I have seen

I was looking at it recently and was surprised at how expensive it was. $500/night with a round seems pretty high for something that isn't luxury, isn't a top tier course, and isn't really ideal weather or location.

Three nights and 4 rounds at Sand Valley last month was like $1100. Same nights and rounds next year at St George UT for about that again.

Horseshoe is more aligned with Streamsong prices, which I found odd.

They can charge that because people are paying it. The courses might not be considered "top tier" but they are some of the better accessible courses in Texas. Ram and Apple are both great tracks. The resort has also stepped up their game substantially the last 5 or so years, so it has become a much more appealing family destination. Layout-wise, I still think Ram is the best course up there, including Summit and Escondido. I've been playing all those courses for ~30 years. The country club experience is better at the two new ones (they also have no public players), but Ram is a very challenging layout.

I've played the 3 resort courses and Summit as a member guest and have always stayed at my friends house. So my perspective is a little different than someone who stays at the resort. I love playing all the courses and especially appreciate the challenge of Ram and Summit.

Would I want to spend $500 for a night at the resort with a round of golf……..no. I'm not a fan of crowds, I don't like the lake (almost every inch of lake frontage is built up), and everything closes early in town. Plus the restaurants are really mediocre in Horseshoe Bay.

Love to play golf every once in a while there, but I sure as heck wouldn't want to live there.

our friends live there and love it. Good golf, lots of other activities - tennis, pickleball, etc. Great place for an active lifestyle. The CapRock club for the members is really nice, plus access to resort amenities which are usually pretty easy to access during the week.

Close to a lot of hill country towns and Austin if you want a bigger city night.

Howdy Ags,

If anyone would like to come out and stay, I can help you out (Room price, not golf!).
We have some great weekday specials this summer (Sun-Thu nights). I can help on weekends/holidays as well, but not as much.

We have a TON of new amenities that we just added or are in progress.

  • Inflatable Obstacle Course on constant level Lake LBJ
  • Floating Pool at our Waterfront Beach (first in North America)
  • Upgraded Whitewater putting course (real grass and hazards). Special lighting added for a great night time experience.
  • Just launched our racquet sport partnership with Mouratoglou Tennis. First location in North America. Patrick coached Serena Williams and many other top tennis players.
  • Building a new state of the art Golf Academy (1st Qtr 2025). Will feature indoor/outdoor bays with Trackman/Toptracer technology, club fitting/repair, clinics, lessons, etc.
  • Mastercraft boat partnership - rentals, as well as surf/wake lessons and camps. We also have a full service Marina for other rentals or you can bring your own.
  • Bronco Off Roadeo Experience - hit the trails in a new Ford Bronco at our off site Bronco Ranch (so much fun!)
  • While Yacht Club is now restricted to Members, guests who stay in our rental programs (condo's, townhomes and private houses) will still have access through September 1st. After that, only guests who stay in our brand new Signature Waters Condo's will have access.

Come check out all the great new amenities and of course, our great golf.

If I can assist or answer any questions, please let me know. I'm on the resort side, not membership...but I can help answer some basic questions or put you in contact with the appropriate people.
