Does anyone know anything about this course? We have a free weekend and I am thinking of taking my daughter up for a STPGA Junior Tour tournament. We are in Cypress, so it would be about a 2 1/2 hr drive for us, wanted to know if it was worth the drive. Looks like near Lake Sam Rayburn, up the road from Jasper. I have never heard of it, would appreciate any information on it.

Fun layout but spotty conditions due to the hot TX summer and a tough course for juniors.

Our family has a home in Rayburn Country so I'm very familiar with it.

cab is correct...conditions can sometimes slip a little due to area/heat but overall it's nice and fun.

Used to have 3 9's years and years ago and management let the course fall apart. Walter Umphrey invested a ton of money in 2010 and put a lot of money back into it/new clubhouse and basically converted it to 18 holes with an executive 9 that they just let get overgrown and not use. I did hear just this past weekend when I was up there that they're renovating/re-doing that 9 as well so hopefully it'll be back in play in the near future.

Another rich guy got a hold of it 2 years ago and is sinking a ton of money into the clubhouse, restaurants/bar area outside and improving the course. They just got a new fleet of carts in the last few months.

Unfortunately the last couple times i've been up I haven't been able to play it (we've spent all our time on the water because it's so hot)...so can't speak to the current conditions of the course but I think you'll enjoy it. The weather forecast for this weekend looks incredible.
