Kicking around the idea of putting together a guys' golf weekend in the spring or early summer. Would be 6-8 guys, all based out of the DFW area. We want a location we can reasonably drive to on Friday morning, play Friday afternoon and Saturday, head home Sunday. Casinos would be a perk, so possibly Oklahoma or Louisiana, but not a necessity.

Curious to hear recommendations, dos/don'ts, etc... Thanks in advance.

Hot Springs Village is great for low-key and golf focused.

We did that trip with three couples last year. The golf is good. Courses have lots of undulation and are in reasonable shape. Hot Springs itself is fun. Several good places to eat and drink.

This is the AirBnB we rented. Highly recommended!

Well...considering 2.5 hours for 18 average..not too busy and the resident's complaint of being behind drunk Texans and 4 hour 18... probably not too busy compared to other standards.

They don't have non resident green fees posted but guest fee is $59-$66 and $18 for cart.

Isabella and Granada are the better ones Diamonte is private but plenty of people have been able to get on

Those are the best 3 IMO but i like all of them except Ponce and it isnt bad honestly

Isabella has 3 separate 9's if you wanna get 27 in one day

All the courses were around $65 iirc. We were seldom behind anyone and it was on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Sunday round got rained out and they readily refunded the prepaid green fee.

You'll want to verify the rates. I would expect to pay $70-100 based on the course and exact dates.

Our group of 12 paid $88 at Granada in September 2022. We played Balboa in 2019 for less, but I don't recall the exact amount.

Tee times were 8 minute intervals, and there were multiple local groups to contend with.
