Has any of you ever been to a women's event? This is a major so expecting a good field. Our daughter would love to get Lexi Thompson's autograph or a pic of her, or any of the other top players. Is it easy to get autographs or not?

I've never been but have heard from people who have (event in Dallas area) the players are much more accessible and willing to sign stuff vs the men. Especially for a young girl like your daughter I'd think they would love to sign stuff for her to promote interest in the game. Have fun!

Regular LPGA events the players are very accessible. Chatted with Emma Talley as she was walking from the practice green to the first tee at Brickyard in Indy.

I went to a LPGA event that was down in Sugarland around 2008. Very accessible, maybe it will be less being a major, not sure the one I went to was a major.

I followed around Sandra Gal and then split off to watch Michelle Wie. Wie's drives would land 40 yards past the other two she was playing with. Amazing. And the crowds around Wie's group were much larger.

I had a great time and really felt like I could have walked up and had a chat with Gal as there were practically no one around.

I had a good time, and I am hoping to find time to get up there these next few days.

Just a heads up for any going to the tournament…check the road closures within The Woodlands because of the Ironman race on Saturday. It will back traffic up in every direction. So you may want to allow for that in your travel schedule.

a few years ago I took my then-10 year old daughter to the LPGA event at Las Colinas. She had just started playing golf. We went on Friday morning and so there weren't that many people. Hopefully this hasn't changed...the LPGA players were absolutely incredible especially with the little girls. My girl loved Paula Creamer and we got pictures, etc, a ball, etc. Lexi Thompson too. We are standing by the practice green and Cristie Kerr's caddie comes up to my daughter and gives her a signed ball. Just out of the blue.

Not sure what the setup is but look for where the players come out of the locker room to warm up. They usually come out about an hour or hour and a half before their tee time. There was a spot at Las Colinas where they would stop and sign and take a pic. We got all of them. It was really incredible. After the round they sign too.


Best story of all, we were following Morgan Pressel for a few holes. She comes off a green on the course and sees my daughter. Remember, this is a Friday in May. She goes up to her and asks her if she's getting out of school for this? You came to watch us instead of go to school? etc. Just has a little conversation with her right there. Tells her caddie to get my daughter a ball and he hooks us up. Then she goes to the next tee.

If she really likes Lexi, follow her for several holes. Stick with her group out on the course where the fans thin out. (Like any pro tournament alot of fans will stay close to the clubhouse). Stand by where they come off the green to go to the next tee. I guarantee you she will notice her after a few holes and either give her a ball or something or for sure sign after. They don't sign during the round but alot of pros change balls every 3-4 holes and will toss the old one to fans.

As I said before, if you can catch them when they first come out, they will sign too and if they sign , they will take pics.


Best live sports experience I've ever had, and the most fan friendly athletes I've ever seen. And one of my most favorite days ever with my daughter, and she still loves golf. Plays HS golf now and she still remembers that day too.

Anyone aware of discount codes for this? My daughter just started at Cypress Golf Academy this year and I think she'd love to go for the morning. Just seeing if any Chevron employees got discount codes or anything since we can't stay all day.

Your ticket would be $45 I think...I just looked yesterday to see what it cost.

Cool experience - watching my girl play golf was the best sporting experience that I had over the past 5 years. She even made it to a DII college where she retired from competitive golf after one year. Broke my heart and it is still breaking. I don't have to tell you to enjoy this time as you probably see the end out there already, whenever that may be.

Went to the lpga tour championship at the houstonian many years ago. it was actually pretty fun. seeing natalie gulbis was the highlight.

Went to buy parking tickets and it's says sold out?
What the heck; I even live in town but not close enough to walk to the course.

It says you can pay at arrival. It's the only place you can park. I can't see how they're sold out.

There is only shuttle lot parking and you have to have a parking permit bought online…at least that is how I understand.

I really want to go out there at least for Saturday.

We went today. The shuttle lot is really close, it's set up really well. 5 minutes there and 5 minutes back. Parking pass is $10 online.

Anyone seen tee times for tomorrow? All they show is round 2 online.

Finally found an article that said the 30ish players that didn't finish round 2 will tee off at 7am. Sounds like round 3 will start around 8am? Based on this?

Play for Round 2 resumes Saturday at 7 am due to darkness. Haven't seen Round 3 tee times.

For what it's worth, I went today around 3:30 until 6:30, didn't buy a parking pass nor saw anyone else with one and hopped right on the shuttle. May change for the weekend but there was no such parking attendants taking admission to the lot today.

So it's crazy the amount of traffic trying to get around I live about 12 minute drive from the parking at Sterling Ridge. It took me 35 minutes to get there and it's full unless you want to pay like $30 VIP parking and there are probably four 500 people standing in line waiting to get on some shuttles it'll take you to the course it's a nightmare

Literally parked wherever and walked right up and got on a shuttle at 8:45am this morning. Super easy. Same leaving at 3:30.

Awesome venue and the ladies are super nice.

Everyone loves her swing and it's good no doubt but she plays really calm and that's what I like. Nelly Korda in orange. She needs some maroon. Nice event, not as crowded as the men's event but transportation with the Iron Man in town slowed things up a bit.

It looked like hardly anyone was there on TV. I'll try and go next year.

Dads, if you have a daughter who plays or might want to start playing this in an EXCELLENT event for them to get exposed to big time golf. This was a major and the top players in the world were so gracious to our daughter, she got hats, balls, gloves, towels and conversations. Heck she even was asked up to celebrate with Vu the winner! 5* highly recommend and it's at Woodlands for the next 4 years with an option for 5 more!

Matter of fact my 9yo was telling Vu (the champ) that one day she's winning that trophy and jumping in too, and she smiled and said "please do! nothing would make me feel better than being here as a past champ and watching you hoist the trophy! )

Agree. We followed one of the amateurs (Avery) most of Saturday and pretty much met all her family and friends including a lot of the other amateurs that were in the field. They all talked golf and encouraged my daughter and her game as well as loved signing autographs. While we didn't want to annoy the players, they actually responded and seemed to enjoy encouragement between holes.

The other thing was it almost felt like we were only a handful of people on the tournament following the first group off the tee to start the 3rd round Saturday. The crowd didn't seem to show up until lunch time.

I told you! Those look just like the pictures the players took with my daughter. It is incredible. They really get it.

This makes me so happy to hear. I wanted to go this year but was offshore so hopefully I can take 2 of my 3 next year.
