I'm a Ping and Titleist guy... need a new set of irons. +12 handicap. Any help with your experience playing these clubs or any you would absolutely stay away from. I'll will go hit some next week as well to try them out.

Ping i230, i525, G430. I'm a white dot. +1/2" shaft

Titleist T100S, T200, T300

G430, T400's I feel like I've progressed past those clubs. I've played with both their predecessors, and they were fine. I hit the ball fairly long, so I don't necessarily need the strong loft that comes with these irons.

Dayum Boy...+12, that's a lot better than TexAgs +2,

I've hit 425 plus and they felt horrible.
I swung T100S one time on my simulator and shanked the **** out of it and put a hole on my drywall.

I'll be the first to say - go get fit

I'm a 10 and was just fit last week for irons for the first time in forever. A while back I switched from AP2 to AP3's because I wanted a little more distance and forgiveness. I like the feel with them, but my iron play just hasn't progressed like I wanted. Turns out the AP3 with the shaft in it was the complete oppostite what I need. This set was high launch and high spin, and I am already high spin to begin with.

Got fit for a low spin low launch and tighter dispersion shaft Mizuno. Should be coming in next week and am very excited! This should turn me into a scratch right?

Guilty of going with mizzuno here too (as soon as fedex delivers them). The 221s with the right shaft was just too good to pass up

Been gaming Srixon ZX7 since the summer.

Really nice compromise between the look of a player's club with a decent amount of forgiveneness.

I played the Z765 for a while, but they didn't generate enough spin, and I had difficulty holding greens -- they were also prone to low spin fliers.

Not the case with the ZX7s.

Also have some Miura 1957 and Titleist 718 CBs. I tried the T100s and didn't love them, and went back to the CBs.

Why is it every club fitting thread on here ends up with Mizuno.
Starting to think Mizuno has some kind of contract with Club Champion etc.

Same Mizuno irons in my bag over 20 Years.

Which ones?
I just bought a very lightly used set of MP60s to retire my MP30/32 combo set.
After looking at those for so long I just couldn't bear to look at a thick top line and wide sole.

To the OP - find some Demo Days or go to PGA Superstore and narrow it down to a couple choices and then get fitted in those particular clubs.

T-zoid Sure. Oversize and probably one of the most forgiving head Mizuno ever stamped out.

Also have T-Zoid Comp-EZ which is a forged version of Sure and 1 degree weaker. No, it's not softer because it's forged. It's still steel. I chuckle whenever golfers say "these forged irons are buttery smooth..."

All I remember is hitting my old MP-33 muscle back 7 iron blade near the hosel in front of a pond and the ball flew about 125 yards right into splash. Not only it stung like hell, I think I tripled that hole. Never again.

Yeah, but those MP33s might be the prettiest clubs ever made!

Looks are more important than playability! lol

Oh...is that right.

So you're ready to shape shots...hit a light 5 yard baby cut to a pin tucked behind a bunker with water right and 4.5 yards from the right fringe and also hit a towering 15 yard draw over 115 feet tall pine over a pond to a left tucked pin 5 yards from water????

Just messing with you.

I'm planning to buy my first set of new clubs within the next 3-4 months (have only bought used sets before and haven't been fitted), and have fallen in love with the looks of the Mizuno Pro 225s. Only problem is I really need more of a game improvement iron than a players distance. I plan to get fitted when I'm ready to buy, and I expect to try out the JPX 923 Hot Metals and Hot Metal Pros. But dang, those 225s look sweet. Oh, and I won't limit myself to Mizzys, but I've always liked them whenever I've hit them at PGA Superstore.

I ended up getting fitted for mizuno 923 Forged.

I tried the Pro 223's as well and the Ping i230's.

The 223's went really far. Too far. I would need like 15 gap wedges, lol. The 923 Forged have similar loft but for whatever we reason weren't quite as hot. As a bonus they were a little more forgiving. 923 Forged weren't quite as small as the Pro 223. I prefer the 223 look but the 923 Forged performed better for me. So I got the 923 Forged.

The ping I230's were consistent in distance But I had a really hard time with side to side dispersion on those. I tried multiple shafts just to be sure because I wanted the i230's initially. Really liked the look but ended up with Mizuno.

Where is the best place online to buy T300s with Mamiya Recoil 65 shafts? Am I relegated to just buying straight from my pro shop?
