My son qualified for the Under Armor Junior Nationals this winter after this past fall season and his age group is playing this course for the week. We have a couple practice rounds Thurs/Fri and then the event on Sat/Sun.

Monday we play the Parent Junior shotgun at Baytowne Course.

Anyone have experience, reviews of each of these? We are hyped and looking forward to some Florida Golf.

Hoping we play well enough again this Spring to qualify for Summer nationals in West Palm Beach

Congratulations. I play them every summer. Fun resort courses. Burnt pine is the gem but I enjoy both you listed. Good luck

Raven is the best course you can access at Sandestin. You can call Burnt Pine a few weeks ahead and they may be able to get you on for an early tee time for $179. I did this back in September with no problem.

our family went to sandestin every year for many years when my kids were little. Played all the courses.

Raven is the nicest course. Champions tour was there in 06 and 07 I think. Great course. Tons of variety. Long, short, doglegs each direction, everything. Great track.

Baytowne is a little older, typical Fla resort course. They do have a way forward set of junior tees which is fun when your kids are 9-10 or so. Not as difficult or as manicured as Raven. Still great.

Links is the oldest course. About the same level conditioning as Baytowne. Shorter and tighter. Again, a typical Fla resort course. Big bunkers but alot are more for direction and boundaries than actual threats. Several really pretty holes on the water. 9 is a par 5 with the bay all along the

Burnt Pine is at the back of the resort and I believe it is private. It is really nice from what I can tell, never played it.

Course Assignments:

(6-8 Boys and Girls and 15-18 Girls) Burnt Pine Hole 1 and 10 (12 noon) - Reese Jones Design 15-18 Girls S Tees 5500 yards

(9-11 Boys) Baytowne - Red Tees - Tom Jackson Design (4500 Yards)

(9-11 Girls) Regatta Bay - Orange/Green Tees - (4300 Yards)

(12-14 Boys Only) The Raven Gold Tees - Signature RTJ Design (5200 Yards)

(15-18 Boys and 12-14 Girls) The Links Golf Club - Tom Jackson Design (featuring 5 Holes on the Water) - (15-18 Boys Blue Tees) - (15-18 Girls Whites) - (12-14 Girls Red Tees 5000 Yards)

We unfortunately wont have time to play any other courses while we are there. Both our practice rounds are at his course hes playing, and the shotgun on Monday is at Baytowne. They have a ton of things going on while we are there for the kids, families, etc. So we are looking forward to it.

Thanks for all the info!

Not a Tik Tok guy, but here is a pretty good tour of Raven:

Basically exactly what Prexy said…

Raven is a really nice, but tough course. Not many (if any) forced carries from where they'll playing, save for a short par 3. When I played, it was basically mint condition, though I've heard it might have slipped a bit. All around great course though…

Baytowne is a nice older style course. There's trouble around, but I think it's a better overall course than Links, though I enjoyed Links for what it was. As Prexy said, Links has some bay views, but overall I think Baytowne is the better of the two.
