Thinking about building a basement golf simulator

Just moved to Denver and have this huge space downstairs that is screaming to be made into a practice range now that winter is on the way. Do any of you have a simulator at home? I've been reading up on all the options out there and I'm indecisive. I've been thinking about the skytrak, but the 2-4 second delay seems like it would annoy the heck out of me. Is the only other reasonably priced option a Bushnell? Curious to hear what kind of rig you have and what you'd do differently.

I've had skytrak for a couple years now, and it's a solid recommend. You can spend as much as you want on a gaming PC and software. I honestly had no idea it was "more" delay than any other simulator, and I run mine off an ipad pro.

Second recommendation for SkyTrak…. Don't think there's a better unit on the market for that price point. I've had mine for around 3 years and use it on a daily basis with an iPad. No issues with the delay. I use mine primarily for the range/practice functions and have found my numbers to be almost identical to what I get with Trackman.

Word of advice…. Do not "skimp" on the hitting mat. If hitting off a mat on a regular basis, you need something that will give you accurate feedback without too much bounce. There are several on the market for approximately $500. A decent screen that can take the punishment of real balls is also a must and will run $500-$600 depending on size.

I built my hitting bay myself with 3/4" steel conduit, black curtains and additional turf from Home Depot. Add in a decent projector, and I was "all in" for around $4K

Any questions, send me a DM

I have a nice mat that I'd be happy to part ways with for a great deal. I'm located in dallas.

I'm a 3x5 country club elite. Barely used. I'd take 300 OBO for it. It is just sitting in my garage at the moment.

Can the Country Club mat be used outside, just laid on grass? I would not leave it out there, I'd bring it in and out when it was going to be used.

I bought a 10x10 Cimarron Sport hitting cage from khaos288 some time back for my daughter and Im in need a mat. Wondered if this one can be used for that. Again to prolong its life I would not leave it out.

Skytrak. Extremely accurate. The delay never bothered me at all. Fiberbuilt mat. I have the 4x7. As mentioned, do not skimp here. Your elbows will thank you later. Also, their brush hitting surface is much more realistic vs regular mats which are too forgiving on slightly fat shots. I think most regular mats are good for training bad habits

I use a Net Return net.

Going on 4.5 years with Skytrak.

Had it set up in my garage twice, basement once, downtown loft bedroom once and now in a formal living room.

All rooms except for the basement had ceilings over 11 feet. It takes up about 15x15. Went with 6x5 mat.

Using Cimmaron cage system set up at 8x8x5 using the baffle and I just hung lights out 8ft curtains on the side to protect my wall from a lateral shot.

Love my skytrak. No regrets.
The delay isn't that bad. I also run on iPad Pro.

Second for a nice mat. Get the fiber built.

Most important thing is ceiling height.

I've already turned a combo light / fan into a fan only. By breaking all the glass I have more clearance now.
