Par 3, Hole #8 at my home course. 167 yards into the wind. Landed on the green, bounced twice and disappeared. Great feeling! I was playing with a relative that got to experience it with me (almost told him no when he asked me if I wanted to play golf that afternoon) and several other groups on the course saw it go in as well. This is my first hole in one. I'm 34 and have been playing for 18 years. Now I have to keep playing trying to get my second one.

Send emails or DM's to the gear and ball manufactures, a lot of times they will do something nice for you. My brother got a plaque with a ProV1 on it and a bag tag from Titleist

Thanks Elite. I reached out yesterday to the manufactures I was using. A family friend let me know.

Congrats! My favorite part of it was when I was driving home from work the next day and the though occurred to me. I no longer have to "worry" about being a "good" (relatively speaking) golfer that never made a hole in one for the rest of my life!

How much was the bar tab?

Wasn't bad at all. Pretty slow Sunday at the course, I guess due to the wind. Less than $100.

Since December of 2020 I have made 2 (within 2+ months from each other), nearly broke the cup once, and had 2 handfuls of shots that burned the edge or came up just short. Prior to December 2020 I can only truly say I had 2 close (within 1/2 a foot) in the previous 11 years I played. The change was my mindset. I stopped taking the conservative route on par 3's (unless I was in a tournament). I decided to pause playing for a score, rather play to make a hole-in-one. Playing for a score caused me to play too cautious and most of the time I wasn't anywhere near it. Not that this is the solution to everyone's hole-in-one birdie woes, but I will say it did increase my belief I was going to come away with one at some point. And, confidence can do a lot for one's game.

I made my first one this year after 52 years of golf. I had kinda resigned myself to it not happening, and like most I guess, I was surprised when it did happen.

My wife came up to the club to celebrate with me, as did a couple of my regular golf buddies who weren't out there. That was fun.

Congratulations!

Congrats. If there's not already one, there should be an Official Hole in One thread. Would be cool to see everyone's stories. I would start one but I'm not qualified!

This is funny. I hit a nice and easy 3 wood. Strong wind in my face and I don't hit it very far anyway.

I never really thought I would make one so I haven't put any pressure on myself. I don't consider myself a good golfer (usually 14-16 handicap). It is nice to have one.

Now the goal is shooting in the 70's and chasing my second hole in one.

Have been playing for 30 plus years didn't get my first one until I was 49. Got my second one a year later.

It will happen.

My second one wasn't 1/10 as exciting as the first. The first one is so exciting because you never know if you're going to get one before you die. The second is pretty cool because it helps erase a double bogey.

I have scored two par threes in one and five eagles on par fours.

Your wording is confusing.

Cograts...that's awesome. I feel like I'm due. I've holed out from the rough/fairway at least 4 times at par 3 distances each time. Frustrating!

Yeah but all the "I almost had a hole in 1!" stories are infinite, right?

pretty much and the hole out from the fairway everywhere from 225 down doesn't help, this whole thread is triggering lol

Congratulations.

I have had two but the last one was when I was 16. I am 45 now. And I have played a LOT of decent golf since then.

Trying to do the math here. Say once a week so 52 rounds a year for 29 years. Going to round that to 50 and 30 for math. Average four par 3s per course. Thats 1500 par three course and for the random 9s and such. So 1800 par threes. I probably hit 2/3rds of them so 1200 birdie putts. No aces. Hell I bet its more than that.

It's all good... perhaps you were assuming the ball-striker was a man.
