A couple of us are heading to San Marcos for a weekend and going to try to get 2-3 rounds in. Is the obvious answer Kissing Tree, Bandit and Plum Creek if there's time? What about Landa? Missing anything?

Will head to Burnt Bean BBQ in Seguin for lunch unless I'm talked out of it.

Kissing Tree sucks

Landa Park is my home course. Played the original layout 1000 times. Haven't played it since the redesign a decade ago.

The Bandit is my #2 home course growing up just a few miles away on FM 725.

Play the bandit for sure.

Bandit and Landa are both better than Kissing Tree.

Man, Kissing Tree looks great on its website. Disappointing to hear it isn't that good. What about Plum Creek?

Sounds like we should select in this order…
1. Bandit
2. Landa
3. Plum Creek?
4. Kissing Tree?

Kissing Tree is a fun course to play. The back 9 has some pretty hill country views. And also some elevation changes.
Hays County BBQ in San Marcos is very good. Some Seguin friends tell me the BBQ there is good but not worth the wait, which they say is a minimum 1.5 hours.
The Bandit is a good course to play as is Valeer Creek south of Blanco. Easy drive to Valeer Creek and Original 300 BBQ in Blanco is good and Aggie owned.

Thank you, great feedback. If Burnt Beans is 1.5 hour wait as you say plus a 30 minute drive each way, May interfere with golf time too much to make the trip.

Kissing tree isn't all that bad really. They treat it like a high end club but it's definitely far from it.
